Read MoreJakarta, Thursday, November 30, 2023, PT PGAS Telekomunikasi Nusantara (PGNCOM) signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Indonesian Internet Network Providers Association (APJII). The signing ceremony was held directly in the Multimedia Room of PGN Jakarta Office.
PGNCOM and APJII signed the agreement on Sumatera Internet Exchange as a strategic step that will have a positive impact on the development of information and communication technology, especially in the Sumatra region.
APJII is an Internet Protocol Number Management Institution for the territory of Indonesia that has an Implementation License issued by the Government and Internet Protocol Number user companies.
This Agreement is related to the cooperation in providing PoP in areas including Medan, Riau, Batam, Jambi, Palembang, Lampung and Cilegon with a large connection capacity between these areas, as well as the placement of server and colocation devices.
Mr. Larassetyo Wibowo (President Director of PGNCOM) said "A new concept where the traffic load is too dense to pass through Java, with this cooperation, it is hoped that the Sumatra IX region will become a place to connect various internet service providers in the Sumatra area. Through Sumatera IX, content can be connected without the need to make a turnaround at a hub other than Sumatra (for example: Jakarta-Cyber)".
In his speech, Mr. Muhammad Arif (Chairman of APJII) said that APJII "Menjahit Sumatra" Program has a vision to connect APJII members in Sumatra area. And PGNCOM will be the first provider to cooperate with APJII in terms of connecting all APJII POPs in Sumatra. APJII is committed to connecting APJII Sumatra members through PGNCOM, selling products to APJII networks such as IPTR, Sumatra DEPL, and Sumatra-Jakarta DEPL to increase future revenue, and other benefits.
