IoT Seminar and Workshop

The Technical Implementation Unit of Information and Communication Technology of the Sumatera Institute of Technology (Itera) held a seminar and workshop entitled "Internet of Things and Opportunistic Use of Technology on Global Trends of Industry 4.0", in the Itera Public Lecture Hall, Tuesday (27/8/2019) with Larassetyo Wibowo, S.T., M.Sc. (Director of Commercial & Development PGNCOM) as one of the speakers.


The seminars and workshops were attended by hundreds of participants consisting of students, lecturers, and general participants. The event was opened with remarks by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. ing Mitra Djamal.


In his remarks, he appreciated the activities that involved many students and the general public as well as presenting experts who were experts in the field of information technology. This activity is considered to be an important role for Itera to contribute to the development of the field of science and technology on the island of Sumatera.


As one of the speakers, Larassetyo Wibowo, S.T., M.Sc. said that currently the global trend in the business sector has shifted. Today all businesses rely more and more on data. And one way to be able to acquire data is with IoT technology which consists of input sensors, CPU, connections, power, and output.


Larassetyo also emphasized that it is very necessary to implement IoT technology on the island of Sumatra for various fields, ranging from education, trade, monitoring, disaster mitigation, cultural, social, and even political.
